CAREC is a practical, project-based program that has grown from 6 projects worth $247 million in 2001, to 166 projects worth around $27.7 billion in 2015.
Projects in the Kyrgyz Republic
As of 2015, CAREC has mobilized around $1.12 billion for 24 projects with a regional dimension that included the Kyrgyz Republic. These projects have helped improve transport, trade, and energy infrastructure and policies, based on the premise that better connections are key to unlocking Central Asia’s vast resources and human potential.
