Senior government officials of the 10 CAREC countries and representatives from multilateral development partners gathered to
- discuss updates on the CAREC Economic Corridor Development study and the Almaty-Bishkek Corridor Initiative;
- discuss progress and key issues in the four CAREC priority sectors (transport, energy, trade facilitation, and trade policy); and
- further review the methodology of the CAREC Development Effectiveness Review, and
- endorse the updated draft ministerial announcement on the physical establishment of the CAREC Institute.
The meeting also discussed the proposed theme and structure for the 13th CAREC Ministerial Conference to be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic in November 2014.
