Summary:Project 1 involves
  • reconstruction of about 74 kilometers (km) of the four-lane road section of the A373 highway (between km 116 and km 190); and
  • improved road safety management, including a developed national road infrastructure safety strategy and measures to improve road safety management; a developed road safety action plan; solar road signs for the A373 Kamchik Pass section; public awareness programs; and a road safety capacity development program for the Republic Road Fund and Uzavtoyul.
Expected Outcome:Project 1 will contribute to increased domestic and international trade in Uzbekistan. It will improve road connectivity, safety, and effective management of the Uzbekistan section of CAREC Corridor 2.
Expected Outputs:
  • About 74 km of road section upgraded, and
  • improved road safety management.
