Summary:The project aims to
  • improve key customs and transit-related infrastructure and communications,
  • improve the capacity for customs and transit administration, and
  • improve local tax administration.
Expected Outcome:

The project will promote better transit of goods and services and strengthen capacity of customs agencies in Afghanistan by

  • establishing a more efficient customs and transit regime,
  • improving collecting capacity of the Afghan Customs Department,
  • reducing trade transaction costs, and
  • implementing appropriate measures to facilitate international trade.

Expected Outputs:
  • Improved customs and transit-related infrastructure and communications,
  • strengthened capacity for customs and transit administration, and
  • better local tax administration.
