“Good Neighbors, Good Partners, Good Prospects”: CAREC is a partnership of 11 countries linking north, south, east, and west through the heart of Central Asia, working together to create a better future for the region.

Building Cooperation through Partnership

Good Neighbors, Good Partners, Good Prospects: to make this CAREC vision a reality, it is not enough to be good neighbors and secure good prospects. Good neighbors must also be good partners who together respond to shared opportunities and challenges. The robustness of the CAREC partnership is built on a decade of effective regional cooperation, where the common good is also the common goal.

CAREC’s good partners include

  • Eleven CAREC Countries: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, the People's Republic of China, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
  • Six Multilateral Institution Partners: Six multilateral institutions support CAREC countries in mainstreaming regional cooperation in the areas of transport, trade, and energy—the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Monetary Fund, the Islamic Development Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, and the World Bank.
