World Bank approves $110 million loan to improve electricity supply in four regions of Uzbekistan

Turkmenistan gets $125 million ADB loan for a regional railway project
Turkmenistan will receive a $125 million loan, its first from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), to fund the North-South Railway Project, to install power, signaling, and telecommunication systems on 311 kilometers of the 934 km planned North-South Railway Corridor. [ More... ]

CAREC is a partnership of 10 countries - Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, the People's Republic of China, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan - working with six multilateral institutions - Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, International Monetary Fund, Islamic Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme, and World Bank - to achieve development through regional economic cooperation.
